Why Now?
We’ve been tracking global shifts toward wellness and moderation for years. About five years ago, I began noticing the rise of non-alcoholic and sparkling wines across Europe, which ultimately inspired us to launch Spring in a Bottle. That evolution naturally led us to explore the low-alcohol category. But what we found was a lack of wines that felt elevated, wines with true character. That’s when we decided to partner again with our longtime collaborators in Germany and our winemaker Roman Roth to craft something distinctly Wölffer: refined, balanced, and flavorful at just 7% ABV.
Why Pinot Blanc?
Pinot Blanc stood out immediately. Not only is it my favorite grape variety, it also retains its character beautifully, even through the alcohol reduction process, which can be challenging for many varietals. It gives soft notes of peach, pear, and almond without requiring manipulation that might compromise the wine’s integrity. The result is clean, fresh, and elegant. It's something you can enjoy throughout the day without it ever feeling heavy or burdensome.
Why a Low-Alcohol Wine?
Drinking habits are changing, not just in the U.S., but globally. In Europe, low- and no-alcohol wines aren’t just trends, they are part of a broader cultural shift. Across generations, people are prioritizing quality and intentionality, Hamptons Light is our response to that: lower in calories, gentle in alcohol, and thoughtfully made. It’s about enjoying wine without compromise.
