Roman Roth and Tieghan Gerard of Half-Baked Harvest Host a Summer Harvest Dinner

The Summer Harvest event at Wölffer Estate Vineyard was an unforgettable evening filled with exquisite cuisine, fine wines, and a vibrant atmosphere. Hosted by the talented Tieghan Gerard of Half-Baked Harvest and Wölffer's esteemed Winemaker and Partner, Roman Roth, the event showcased the perfect harmony of culinary creativity and viticultural excellence. Held on Wölffer's picturesque terrace, the event provided guests with stunning views of the lush vineyard. The long table was elegantly adorned with fresh flowers from Ocean Fog Farm, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. 

Tieghan Gerard curated a delightful menu that celebrated the flavors of summer, while Roman Roth expertly paired each course with Wölffer's finest wines. The evening began with a selection of delectable hors d’oeuvres, including green olive tapenade with feta crostini, mini burrata caprese skewers, and poached lobster on cucumber. These appetizers were perfectly complemented by the refreshing Summer in a Bottle Long Island Rosé 2023 and Summer in a Bottle Long Island Sauvignon Blanc 2023.

Upon being seated, guests were treated to a plated first course of Summer Watermelon Peach Salad, paired beautifully with Wölffer No. 139 Peach Cider, offering a refreshing and fruity start to the meal. The main courses were served family-style, featuring an array of dishes that highlighted seasonal ingredients and bold flavors. Guests enjoyed herbed garlic butter scallops with lemony feta dressing, herby lemon garlic steak, corn, tomato and snap pea salad, prosciutto and ricotta flatbreads, and Roman’s grilled garlic bread, all paired with the rich and complex Fatalis Fatum 2019 and the elegant Perle Chardonnay 2021. A highlight of the evening was Roman Roth stepping behind the grill to prepare the herby lemon garlic steak. Grilling over the flames fueled by the very vines of Wölffer's vineyard added a unique and personal touch to the event, delighting guests with the aroma and flavor of the expertly cooked steak. To top off the evening, guests indulged in no churn creamy strawberry ice cream, accompanied by a 2003 Late-Harvest Chardonnay from Roman's Libabry, providing a sweet and memorable end to the meal. 

This collaboration brought together gourmet food, exceptional wines, and the enchanting ambiance of the vineyard. Guests left with full hearts and satisfied palates, eagerly anticipating the next gathering at Wölffer Estate Vineyard.
