Radio Europa
Alfredo Merat was born in Madrid, Spain and raised in Bordeaux, France. He is a self taught and ear-trained musician. He began the cafe theatre circuit at age 17 and has toured all over Europe, the Caribbean and the United States. His influences range from Classical and Flamenco to Jazz and Rock. His band, Europa Jam Sessions, which has been immensely popular in the Hamptons, really define his work. Through his company, Overseas Connection- dba villasoftheworld.com, he has been able to travel the world and bring his music to a larger audience and work with other world class musicians. He is an activist working with many charitable groups and organizations. Issues important to him have included working in Haiti with earthquake victims to helping local communities with issues such as immigration and the environment. He is always lending helping hand with his music and passion.
Music is a passion... Since 1987 Europa showed up in the Hamptons NY. scene, it has never faded since.

Well from the early days I have fused, mixed and explored within the comfind of my music and I have let it evolve and slowly by meeting other musicians more used to Blues Rock, Reggae or Jazz or other genres they have somehow made a impact in my songs, added colors, changed the sound of course and so sometimes not even wanting to have that happened, but I have adapted and RadioEuropa was born.
